Is Offline Medical AI really free?
Yes, completely free. This is our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to help clinicians deliver better patient care without the burden of expensive software subscriptions. There are no hidden fees, no premium tiers, and no usage limits.
How does offline processing work?
We use state-of-the-art local Large Language Models (LLMs) that run entirely on your device. When you record a consultation, the audio is processed locally using on-device speech recognition, then the transcript is analyzed by the local LLM to generate SOAP notes, summaries, and other documents. No internet connection is required, and no data ever leaves your machine.
Is my patient data safe?
Absolutely. Unlike cloud-based solutions, Offline Medical AI processes everything locally on your device. Patient data is never transmitted to external servers, never stored in the cloud, and never accessible to third parties. This makes compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other privacy regulations straightforward.
What happens if I'm in a location with no internet?
That's the beauty of offline AI-it works perfectly without any internet connection. Whether you're in a rural clinic, doing home visits, or during network outages, all features remain fully functional. The only time you need internet is for the initial app download and optional updates.
How accurate is the medical transcription?
Our transcription engine is specifically trained on medical terminology and achieves 99%+ accuracy for clinical conversations. It recognizes drug names, medical procedures, anatomical terms, and common abbreviations. You can also teach it custom terminology specific to your practice.
Can I customize the SOAP note templates?
Yes! While we provide professionally designed default templates, you can fully customize the format and structure of SOAP notes, clinical summaries, and referral letters to match your practice's requirements or your regional healthcare system's standards.
What languages are supported?
At launch, we support English (US, UK, Irish, Australian), Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, and Polish. We're continuously adding more languages based on community feedback. The AI understands code-switching and medical terms across languages.
How much storage space does the app need?
The base application requires approximately 10GB of storage for the AI models. Recorded consultations and generated documents are stored locally and managed by you-you can export, archive, or delete them as needed. We recommend keeping at least 20GB free for optimal performance.
Will my older computer run this?
The app requires a relatively modern processor (2020 or newer recommended) and at least 8GB of RAM. Apple Silicon Macs (M1/M2/M3) perform exceptionally well. For Windows/Linux, a CPU with AVX2 support is required. Check our detailed specs section above for complete requirements.
How do I get updates and new features?
Updates are delivered through your platform's standard app store (Mac App Store, Microsoft Store, etc.) or directly through the app if downloaded from our website. Updates are optional and can be installed when convenient-your offline functionality is never interrupted.
